Cabin Fever

by Jacob Haller

She's a robot with a mechanical heart. (The only kind that I seem to be able to mesh with.) She's a magnet, and we're poles apart. (She's good to me, as only a metal object to flesh is.) People sure look at us funny, but I don't mind, 'Cause my gear-shifting baby just BLOWS MY MIND. My little lobster. (x3) She's got wheels, bicycle built for two. (I only have to see her to want to go for a ride.) A Kryptonite lock: she's made for me, not you. (I'll never let any other take her from my side.) People laugh at me, but they don't understand, 'Cause the two of us: we go GEAR IN HAND. My little lobster. (x3)

Last night I ate a pound of steak. (It was so delicious.) Now it's six A.M. and I'm still awake. (I wish that I was vegan.) My fridge is stocked with Limburger cheese. (It was so delicious.) The smell, it brings me to my knees. (I wish that I was vegan.) My love for honey is profound, (It was so delicious.) But now it costs six bucks a pound. (I wish that I was vegan.) So now I eat seitan and soy, (It is so delicious.) And rice and beans bring me such joy. (I'm glad that I am vegan.)

I get these headaches after these gigs. They make me angry, you [silly] pigs. [Swat] the bees. [x3] Stupid sinuses! Why can't you go away? Worthless ibuprofin! Why can't I get [candy]? [Swat] the bees. [x3] I guess I could stop playing loud music, but that's what they're expecting. Or maybe it's the penguins hanging from my nose ring. [Swat] the bees. [x3] [WHISTLING SOLO] Maybe I could think of better words if my head wasn't pounding so much. It's really hurting a lot. I can't even think of a [crazy] rhyme. [Swat] the bees. [x4]

about

In the winter of 2014/2015, New Englanders had to come up with ways to battle cabin fever, and one method I used was to post on facebook asking if there was a song anyone wanted to hear me play. This led to me posting a bunch of old recordings -- many of them from back before I really considered myself a real songwriter -- along with a few new ones. After a few weeks of this, my record label, 75orLess Records, sent me a note asking if I wanted to put out an album with some of these songs on it ... and here it is!

You can buy downloads of the tracks here. If you want a CD, you can get it from 75orLess's site at 75orlessrecords.com/jacob-haller-cabin-fever/ , or at one of my shows (see music.jwgh.org/gigs.html to see where I'll be playing).
